Some Frequently Asked Questions
  • Q:  Do I have to come to the Boat Smith shop to have my boat worked on?
  • A:  No Boat Smith is a mobile operation which allows you to keep your boat in its slip while we work on it.
  • Q:  Is woodworking the only service you offer?
  • A:  No Boat Smith offers other services which are covered in the Services section of this site. 
  • Q:  Does it cost me anything for you to look at my project?
  • A:  No, the initial consultation is free.  Meaning that we will examine your project at least long enough to give you an estimate. 
  • Q:  Can you give me an estimate over the phone:
  • A:  Usually not, unless you can provide detailed drawings via fax machine.
  • Q:  Is My project too small?
  • A:  There is a two hour minimum charge but other than that Boat Smith is happy to help with small projects
  • Q:  What Size boats do you work on?
  • A:  Boat Smith has serviced boats from 16' to 160'
  • Q:  Do you only work on wooden boats?
  • A:  We work on fiberglass boats and wooden boats, as well as anything else that floats and needs woodwork.
  • Q:  Do you only work on power boats?
  • A:  We work on both power and sail boats
